About the event

the Unveiling of the Second Generation Nanoscale offset Printing System (NanoOPS Gen 2) held in Conjunction with the 2017 Nano and Microscale Printing of Sensors and Electronics Workshop will be held at the George J. Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security at Northeastern University Innovation Campus in Burlington: 141 South Bedford St, Burlington, MA.

The unveiling will take place on Wednesday morning, December 13th from 9:00 a.m. to noon and the workshop will take place on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 PM

The workshop will address needs, applications and challenges in transitioning Nano and microscale printing of sensors and electronics into commercial products. Invited speakers from industry, government and academia will provide overviews and discussion of current status, and future developments of printing technologies. The workshop will also address many Nano and micro printing challenges such as scalability and cost in printing nanomaterials-enabled applications such as sensors, electronics as well as other applications such as multifunctional and smart structures, and materials.

The goal of the workshop is to articulate a manufacturing strategy to enable small, medium sized and large companies access to low-cost and green manufacturing processes. In addition, the workshop will address opportunities for workforce development and the particular needs of the industry with respect the knowledge skills and competencies. The workshop will also include an ideation session to craft a strategy to move Nano printing technology from the laboratory and prototype stages to industry-floor manufacturing.
